Texas Auto Burglary Summit Held at Omni Marina Hotel
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Fighting back against auto burglaries; that was the theme of a special summit being held at the Omni Marina Hotel on Thursday.
Law enforcement and insurance industry representatives from across the state gathered for the Texas Auto Burglary Summit, an event that gives officials a chance to network and discuss different crime prevention techniques. They said there are a couple of simple things drivers can do to protect their vehicles.
"One of the things the public can do is think like a thief," said Charles Caldwell, a member at the summit. "Start hiding your things, locking your car, taking your keys. We find that most of the cars that are stolen have their keys left in them."
