TAAF Summer Games of Texas Comes to Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Lone Star State's top athletes will compete in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation 2012 Summer Games of Texas, an Olympic-style event that will take place July 26-29.

Games are going to be hosted at locations throughout Corpus Christi, where amateur and recreational athletes will have a chance to compete for the Gold. More than 8,000 athletes and spectators from around the state are expected to participate.

There are 13 different sports categories to compete in: baseball, boxing, fencing, golf, judo, kickball, skateboarding, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field and triathlon.

Local athletes are encouraged to compete in several events that are open to the public. Register early.

Our city was selected to be host to this event in 2012 as well as 2013. KIII-TV 3 News is a proud television sponsor for this event.
