FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT -

Occurred on 6/30/12, 7:19 pm  Burglary of a Habitation 9350 SPID

Officers responded to the Bay Club Apartments for a home invasion.  They arrived to find the victim unable to provide a lot of details due to his facial injuries.  He was taken by CCFD Emergency Personnel to Spohn Memorial.

Officers conducting their investigation discovered several areas of the apartment had been ransacked and a computer tower taken.  Officers could smell what appeared to be ammonia like scent which led them to the oven where they found a bag containing equipment for a portable "meth" lab.  Officers evacuated nearby apartments and the Narcotics/Vice Division was called out for assistance.

Narcotics/Vice Investigators confirmed the bag was being used as a portable "meth" lab and disposed of it.  The residents were allowed to return to their apartments.  The investigation is still ongoing and the Narcotics/Vice Division will determine what charges will be filed in connections with "meth" lab.

Police are looking for a White male, 20 to 30 years of age, 5'8″ to 5'9″ feet tall and weighing 130 lbs.  The suspect left with another male in a blue compact vehicle.   Anyone with any information on this crime is encouraged to call Crime Stopper at 888-TIPS or login online at www.888-TIPS.com .  Callers can earn a cash reward if their tip leads to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the stolen property.
