Two of Three Gang Members Arrested for Local Stabbing

Occurred on 6/27/12, 12:15 am  Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon  Kostoryz Road/Sunnybrook Road

Officers responded to the Midway Club for a disturbance with a knife at the club.  Upon their arrival, Officers found the 44-year-old victim sitting in a pool of blood in the parking lot of .  He told Officers that he was chased by three men from the Midway Club after a confrontation.  The men followed him to Kostoryz and Foley where the victim was stabbed multiple times.  He was rushed to Spohn Memorial with life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed, the victim ran from the Midway Club to J's Playroom where his escape was blocked by a yellow Cavalier and a Ford pick-up truck.  The victim was caught in the parking lot of a tire business where he was stabbed.  The victim received a large laceration to arm and other stab wound throughout his body.  The suspects fled in the two vehicles.

Patrol Officers, Gang Unit Investigators, and Homicide/Robbery Detectives collaborated with one another and identified the suspects.  Gang Unit Investigators were able to obtain three warrants for gang members Dionicio Garcia aka "nicho", 55, Daniel Cantu Jr. aka "shadow", 40, and Erasmo Verdin aka "Little Rascal" or "lucky", 31.  All three were wanted for Engaging Organized Criminal Activity/Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  Their bond is set at $500,000.
