Homeowner Escapes Injury After Car Collides with Home

FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT -

Occurred on 7/5/12, 0514 am  Traffic Accident/DWI   11625 Turkey Creek

Officers arrived at the 4100 block of Pernitas Creek Drive for an accident involving a possible drunk driver.  Further investigation revealed Greg Lewis, 34, was driving northbound on Pernitas Creek Drive when his GMC pick-up truck collided with a parked Ford Escort.   

The impact pushed the Escort into the home at 11625 Turkey Creek Drive.  The home received extensive damage to the interior and exterior walls.  The homeowner who was asleep in a neighboring room was uninjured.  A mail box at 4109 Pernitas Creek Driver was also damaged.

Lewis who appeared intoxicated was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests and a Blood Draw.  He was taken to Spohn Shoreline where he refused to be evaluated.  Lewis was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
