Accident at South Gate of Naval Air Station - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

Tense moments Thursday morning at the south gate of Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.

A spokesman for the Navy base said that, at around 11 a.m., a man who wasn't cleared by security personnel was attempting to get on the base. Some barriers were put in place to prevent his entry, but a woman driving behind the man ran into one of those concrete barriers.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

As for the man attempting to get onto the base, he was taken in for questioning and then released.
