CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Imagine this: You wake up to grab the morning paper, and you discover an exotic bird on your truck.
Well, that's just what happened in one neighborhood along Santa Fe Street Thursday morning.
Neighbors said the bird actually belongs to a woman who lives nearby; one of two peacocks she reportedly owns.
"There's a lady over on Oleander who has two of them, and she let's them run loose," "We're just fortunate that we get to enjoy them."
"Well, it's been there all morning. We feed him," said Val Gonzalez, a Santa Fe Street resident. "He seems to be pretty tamed. He is not flying away. He has been sticking around all morning."
"I think it's pretty cool," said Cara Wenzel, who spotted the bird while driving. "It's just going around from door to door."
At last report, the bird was doing fine as it continued its neighborhood watch of sorts.
