Corporal Punishment Linked to Mental Disorders

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A study finds that some forms of physical punishment may cause more problems than they solve.

American researchers found that children who are pushed, grabbed, shoved or slapped as a form of discipline are more likely to develop mood and anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, and some personality disorders as they grow older.

The authors said between two and seven-percent of all mental disorders are attributable to physical punishment.
