CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Shackled and wearing a prisoners uniform, the wife of a Kenedy County Justice of the Peace accused of harboring and transporting illegal immigrants made an appearance in federal court Friday morning. Cameras were not allowed.
Bond was set at $25,000 for 41-year old Sandra Lee Miller, who was arrested Monday in Riviera during a routine traffic stop where she was found to be transporting nine illegal immigrants.
If Miller does make bond, she will have to surrender her passport and will be restricted to Kenedy and Nueces Counties.
It is alleged that Miller was paid $500 a person to transport those immigrants to Houston.
