Beaumont police say a man first thought to be a robbery victim may actually be a law breaker.
Officers say witnesses thought the man was being robbed in the parking lot at Super Mack's in the 3300 block of Concord around 11 p.m. Saturday. They saw two men assault him and take his money.
But the police say the investigation revealed the man actually agreed to meet with the two men at the store to buy drugs. Those two men were arrested for robbery, failure to identify, possession of a controlled substance and warrants.
Police have not yet said if the alleged victim will be charged with a crime.
