UPDATE: Early morning fire destroys Tyler home

UPDATE (11:23 a.m.) - Tyler Fire Department:

The Tyler Fire Department responded to a two-alarm structure fire this morning at 5:08 a.m. at 3125 Old Noonday Rd.  Five engines and one Ladder Company, along with a district chief and an investigator, responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy fire involvement in the residential structure.  The fire was brought under control and all units had cleared the scene by 9:45 a.m.  There were no occupants in the residence at the time of the fire and the structure is reported to be a total loss.  No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.


UPDATE (9:27 a.m.) - Tyler firefighters are still on the scene of an early morning house fire checking for hot spots. The fire broke out around 5 this morning in the 3100 block of Old Noonday road. The home is a complete loss.

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Police and fire are still on the scene of that house fire in the 31-hundred block of old noonday.

It started around 5 this morning. Tyler police tells us one of their officers, who just happened to be in the area, spotted the fire.

Our photographer tells us when he got to the scene, he could see the smoke coming through the roof.

We do know the roof on the house collapsed.

We're not sure if anyone was home at the time of the fire.

    A driver loses control and crashes in between two barriers under the freeway. It happened at the Greenwood turn around and SPID earlier Saturday afternoon. CCPD says that the driver was speeding when he made the turn and lost control, getting stuck between the two barriers. Police say the impact caused the car to catch fire. The driver was not injured. He was given a ticket and the car will be impounded, that's because the driver did not have insurance.More >>
