Police Still Searching for Accused Murderer

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The hunt for accused murderer Jose Moreno continues as the Corpus Christi Police Department and Federal Agents are working on new leads.

"Certainly, we are still looking for him. We got some pretty good leads on his location," said Chief Floyd Simpson of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "We are working with federal and local partners in trying to run him down. Specifically our partnership with U.S. Marshals, the Fugitives Squad. We are looking for him."

Moreno is accused of killing another man, also by the name of Jose Moreno, inside the Cadillac Bar off Ayers back on June 29.

The two got into an argument when the 29-year old Moreno went back outside and got a gun, brought it inside the bar and opened fire, killing 41-year old Jose Moreno.

Police ask that you call them quickly if you see or know where the fugitive is.

"If they see him, approach with caution, or don't approach him at all," Simpson said. "We would like for the public to notify us, and we will get someone to take him into custody."

Police are confident that they will capture Moreno, and hope that happens soon.
