CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Corpus Christi firefighters showed up in support of fire union officials at City Council on Tuesday.
Union officials have been locked into a grueling debate with the City for weeks over a new firefighter contract. The old one expired in August of last year, and members of the fire union have been working without a contract ever since.
The dispute is over pay and benefits received by local firefighters.
