Graffiti Vandal Hits Oak Park Neighborhood

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Oak Park neighborhood is one of the oldest in town, but the nearby city park , which has been the site of many neighborhood activities, is now suffering from neglect and vandalism.

The park is usually filled with a lot of people on most days, but on Tuesday, they weren't exactly flocking to the place.

Graffiti covers the playground equipment, and the nearby bathrooms are also littered with the scribble-scrabble of someone who came in here and tagged the place up.

On top of all of that, the weeds are coming up everywhere.

It's a mess, and those who live there aren't happy and don't understand why the city hasn't cleaned up the place. They say the graffiti has been there for at least two weeks.

"I'm mad because the neighborhood is going down," said Tony Medina, a 50-year resident of the area. "They don't do anything about it and I'm kind of disappointed."
