CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
You saw the kickoff of the annual Seven-Day Film Festival, where competitors will be scrambling to put a movie together in just seven days; but on Friday, a different organization, the South Texas Underground Film Group, was challenging people to do it in just 48 hours.
The 48 CC Challenge was unveiled Friday night at the Art Center of Corpus Christi. Organizers said the idea for the challenge was homegrown.
"This all started as an idea in my living room," organizer Robert Perez said. "There was a group of film makers that said, 'Can we make short films in 24 or 48 hours.' Next thing you know, we said 'You know what, we have a couple of friends. Let's incorporate all of our friends and see what happens.'"
The films must be completed and ready for viewing no later than Sunday.
