Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank earlier Wednesday afternoon.
It happened just before 2 p.m. at the Texas Champion Bank at Gollihar and Ayers. Police said a middle-aged man walked in and demanded money from the teller, and then fled on foot.
"The man did tell the teller he had a weapon, but none was shown to teller at all," said Officer Kirk Stowers of the CCPD. "No one was injured. Our prime concern is that no one was injured."
The man is described as a 40-year old white man wearing a blue Corpus Christi Hooks cap, a dark blue shirt and faded blue jean shorts. He had a day or two old beard.
Police said the man slipped one of the tellers a note demanding cash. The bank employee gave him what he wanted, and then the suspect took off. There has been no word yet on whether or not any customers were inside when it happened.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the bank cameras in hopes of catching the guy. They're still combing the area, but are confident he will be captured.
