Beaumont police and K9 units searched Wednesday evening for a person in the 600 block of Fulton Ave after police say a homeowner found an intruder in his rental property.  The incident started just before 5 p.m.

12 News HD just spoke with the homeowner who says he was driving by to check on the house and noticed the front door was open. The homeowner drove around the block and noticed the door was then closed. He tells 12 News HD, he then walked up to the door to unlock it but the chain lock was attached from the inside. He said he saw a man sitting at a small table with a gun to his chin saying he was going to kill himself. The homeowner then stepped away from the door to call police.

Police arrived and shortly before 8 p.m.  They said they found a gun, bowie knife, ammo and clothes near the scene.

Police have yet to find the suspected intruder.
