MATHIS (Kiii News) -
A rollover accident in San Patricio County sent one man to the hospital with head, neck and back injuries.
The accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. on northbound I-37, three miles south of Mathis. State troopers are not sure what caused the vehicle to flip, but said it could have been a faulty tire.
The witness says he saw a piece of rubber come out from under the Malibu," DPS Trooper Cody Lankford said. He explained that the vehicle began spinning, and was already on its side when it entered the grass median. It was at the edge of a ditch when it started rolling, coming to a rest on top of its roof.
HALO Flight transported the victim, a middle-aged man, to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
