KINGSVILLE (Kiii News) -
A special three-day camp giving middle school students a chance to sample a career in the healthcare field is going on this week on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus. The camp is organizes and hosted each year by the Coastal Bend Health Education Center.
Health professionals are there to offer a guiding hand to students from all around the Coastal Bend, giving them an idea of what it takes to become doctors, nurses and dentists.
"I'm a big fan of the medical field, and anything here has been a great help to me," said Rhiannon Smith, an incoming freshman at Bishop High School. "I've had a lot of fun just learning about anything."
This special summer camp has been taking place for the last five years.
