Orange County was hammered by rain storms Friday with six to 10 inches of rain in some areas by noon.
Yards, ditches and roads were submerged in a matter of hours in Mauriceville.
Sloshing back to his front door, with water up to his knees, John Morcom hopes the water doesn't get any closer to his home.
"Praise the lord it hasn't gotten into the house yet, but this happens, it happens once the ground gets saturated," said Morcom.
Rainfall came pouring down in Mauriceville after 2:00 AM. The bulk of flooding happened from 7:00 to 11:00 Friday morning.
Nearly six inches of rain was picked up by 9:00.
"I woke up, and I couldn't believe it flooded this much," said Jacob Dalton.
Dalton and his grandmother's yards looked more like a pond. Some water even seeped inside his home.
Possibly some of the worst flooding of all was near Highway 62. Fences were halfway underwater, and the rain is rose to the front steps of some homes.
Children waded in Morcom's now hidden driveway. He even had to park his cars near the highway in case he needs out.
"The water is probably past my knees, and it will end up getting in the vehicles and ruin the transmission and ruin the car itself," said Morcom.
"If I want to go any place, I have to keep my socks off and put everything on in the van when I want to go."
Even though the rain is over, there is still a chance the water could get deeper in Mauriceville because as the runoff flows into Adam's Bayou, the water could overflow.
