CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
An Alice teen received the royal treatment on Friday, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
On Friday morning, 15-year old Jonathan DeAsas and his family waited patiently at the airport for their Make-A-Wish flight to Minnesota. Jonathan and his sister, mom and stepfather will be heading to the twin cities for the next four days so that Jonathan can shop at the Mall of America and take in other tourist destinations in Minnesota.
It was last Spring when Jonathan started complaining of shortness of breath and being overly tired. He went in for a blood test and was diagnosed with leukemia. He has been successfully treated at both Driscoll Children's Hospital and Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio.
Every 38 minutes, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition somewhere in the world.
