CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Academy Sports and Outdoors was the place to be for San Antonio Spurs fans on Friday afternoon as the team's Silver Dancers made a special appearance.
It was part of the Spurs Summer Caravan, which spent Friday in Corpus Christi, giving fans a chance to take pictures with championship rings and participate in interactive games to win tickets, jerseys, autographed memorabilia and other prizes.
"The Spurs fans are the best fans in the NBA," Silver Dancer Rebecca Perez said. "On trips like this, we learn we have fans all over South Texas. I'm from South Texas. It's awesome to see the turnout."
Fans who donated a new or used sports ball for local youth centers received a free Spurs car flag to show their pride as they drive.
The Caravan also went to the Corpus Christi Hooks game at Whataburger Field until 8 p.m. Friday.
