Victim identified in PA auto-ped

The man who died Friday night in an auto-pedestrian accident in the 6400 block of Gulfway Drive has been identified. Police say the victim is 40-year-old Robert Wayne Drake of Port Arthur.

The Texas Department of Public safety continues to investigate the accident that happened at 10:20 p.m. on Highway 87 south of Highway 73.

Trooper Stephanie Davis told 12 News HD the driver of the 1997 Ford F-150 that hit Drake is 25-year-old Gabriel Osegura of Port Arthur.

Drake was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Precinct 8 Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam.

Initial reports show the truck was headed southbound on Highway 87 when Drake entered the roadway for an unknown reason.

No citations have been issued at this time in the investigation. Stay with 12 News HD as more information becomes available.
