Video Store Clerk Injured During Robbery

Occurred on 7/15/12, 7:20 am  Robbery  7430 IH 37

Officers responded to the Adult Video store and contacted the 18-year-old store clerk who reported she was physically assaulted and robbed by a man who acting as a customer.  The victim told Officers the man selected a DVD, but walked outside without purchasing the merchandise leaving the DVD at the checkout counter.

The man returned to the counter and acted like he was going to pay for the DVD, but began punching the clerk instead.  The suspect punched the victim in the face and head, knocking her to the floor.

The suspect was able to take an undetermined amount of money from the register and fled.  He is described a bald Hispanic male, 26 to 29 years of age, and 5'8" to 5'9" feet tall.  He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

    Police say fists were flying as a huge bar fight breaks out at a popular south side bar.The fight broke out around 2:15 on Saturday morning at the Whiskey River bar which is in the 5700 block of South Staples. According to police, the fight started inside the bar then it moved outside. One police officer was struck in the brawl. Several men and women who were involved in the melee were taken to jail.More >>
