A 23-year old mother has been missing since Thursday, and now police are asking for help to find her. Her family said she needs to be with them, as she is disabled.
Family members of 23-year old Brittany Gonzalez are scared. They think someone might have taken her against her will, or are taking advantage of her. They said she would never abandon her three-year old son.
"Brittany, this is grandma. Please mija, come home," said her grandmother, Jamie Gonzalez. "Jeremiah needs you. Please come home mama."
They say Gonzalez is not your typical 23-year old. The family described her as physically disabled, with a lazy eye, missing her fingers in both hands except for her thumbs. Plus, her family said she is mentally disabled, with the intelligence of a 12-year old. This is why they are concerned for her safety.
Her family said the last time she was seen was on Thursday night. Everyday, Gonzalez goes to the store three blocks away to get her Dr. Pepper, but at around 11 p.m. Thursday, she went to the store but never made it back home.
This is not normal for her. Her family said she never turns off her phone, no matter what. The family is just worried and asking for help. They just want her home.
"There is no reason for anyone to hurt her," her sister Vanessa Manchaca said. "She doesn't tell anyone ugly, she doesn't look at anyone ugly, she is just perfect. An angel. I know people say that a lot, but she is truly an angel."
Family members also said she never goes out at night, and she doesn't have a boyfriend.
The family is actively looking for Gonzalez, and will be passing out flyers on the streets and handing them out at businesses.
Gonzalez is 23-years old and five-feet six-inches tall. If you have any information on her whereabouts, please contact the police.
