CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The massive blaze on the Padre Island National Seashore, which started with a lightning strike on Saturday, is finally contained.
Firefighters spent Monday putting out hot spots. In the almost three full days that the fire burned, there were no injuries and no structures burned. In all, about 13,000 acres were affected.
Smoke still lingers in the air, but should clear out by Thursday. The National Seashore is once again open to visitors.
