CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Eugene Bouligny, a local philanthropist, challenged students and faculty at Del Mar College to raise over $2 million for charity, and said he will give back to the college $2 million.
"That's what you should do," Bouligny said. "You really should. Very few people do, but that's what you should do. We earn things in the community, and we should give back to the community."
This is actually the second fundraising challenge Bouligny, a local businessman, has made to the school. Last year, he donated a million dollars, but this year, the college has to raise $2.6 million dollars to receive that $2 million gift.
The college has already secured $1.7 million toward that goal. They have until Dec. 31 to get the rest.
