CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
West Nile virus has been confirmed in three new sites around Corpus Christi.
The mosquito samples were collected in the 400 block of Bartlett Drive, near Old Brownsville Road, the 3700 block of Chestnut Street between Carroll Lane and Weber, and the 6100 block of Coral Ridge, which is between Everhart and Weber.
This is the second time Bartlett Drive has tested positive for West Nile mosquitoes this month. The City-County Health Department wants to stress that these are only positive pools of mosquitoes. So far, the virus has not been confirmed in any people in Nueces County.
City Vector Control continues to spray our area for mosquitoes, and will concentrate their efforts on these positive pools.
