Breaking News: Search for murder and kidnapping suspect underway

UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - Sheriff's deputies have released the name of the woman who was allegedly kidnapped by Jackie Guthrie as 19-year-old Tiffany Hurd.

Neighbors tell CBS 19 that Hurd is 7 months pregnant and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue shorts.

The woman who was shot and killed has been identified as 18-year-old Chantel Barrett and was reportedly Hurd's friend.

According to Barrett's Facebook page she was a 2012 graduate of John Tyler High School.

The 22-year-old suspect is believed to be armed with a 9mm handgun. 

Sheriffs describes the suspect's car as a silver Crown Victoria '01 model.  The license plate number is CKP 512. It also has aftermarket wheels and dark tinted windows.   If you see this car, do not approach it. The Sheriff says to call police immediately.

 


 

COFFEE CITY, HENDERSON CO. (KYTX) - A manhunt is underway Friday morning for the man accused of murdering a Henderson County woman and kidnapping his girlfriend.  Sheriff Ray Nutt says he Jackie Guthrie is considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting happened around 10:30 Thursday night at Brierwood Bay. That's on Highway 155 in Coffee City.  Sheriff Nutt says Guthrie had made threats in the past to several women, but this time the fight escalated into a shooting.

The woman's name who is shot and killed is not being released by the Sheriff until all the family is notified, but he says she appears to be an innocent victim.  

The Sheriff describes the suspect's car as a silver Crown Victoria '01 model.  The license plate number is CKP 512. It also has aftermarket wheels and dark tinted windows.   If you see this car, do not approach it. The Sheriff says to call police immediately.

Investigators say the woman's name, who is still missing this morning is Tiffany Hurd. She's 19 years old and believed to a girlfriend of the suspect.  We have a call into the Sheriff's department to get that information for you.


COFFEE CITY, HENDERSON CO. (KYTX) - The Henderson County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting a kidnapping.  The man who is responsible is still on the loose.

It happened around 10:30 Thursday night at Brierwood Bay. That's on Highway 155 in Coffee City.

Henderson County authorities tell us they are looking for Jackie Guthrie.  They have issued an active murder warrant for him.  They tell us he is considered armed and dangerous.

Right now, the Henderson County Sheriff's office is not sure what led to the shooting.  Investigators say the woman's name, who is still missing this morning is Tiffany Heard. She's 19 years old.  Investigators have not released the shooting victim's name yet.
