Movie theaters across the country were taken over by one of Gotham City's finest on Thursday night.
The Dark Knight Rises opened in theaters for a midnight showing, and the lines were very long. However, viewers were happy that they were able to wait inside of the theater lobby rather than outside in the heat.
At Cinemark's Century 16 Theater, there were several screens showing the film in order to handle the crowds. Theater officials made sure that seating for each feature would start early, trying to keep the lines moving and their viewers indoors.
