Standoff underway in Winnie

A neighborhood in Winnie has been evacuated after a man has barricaded himself inside his home. The man is said to be armed.

Chambers County Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene of that standoff.

Deputies responded to a domestic call just after noon Friday at the home located in the 100 block of Highland street. They say there are no hostages.

Officials have cut off the power to the residence and are in the process of turning off the water.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies and SWAT are assisting in the stand-off.
