Anayeli Ruiz

Posted: Updated:

Anayeli joined Kiii Channel 3 News July 2012. She spent two and a half years in West Texas working for Telemundo and the local NBC station.

She was born in Mexico City, but is a Texan at heart. She grew up in Houston and graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in Communication and Spanish.

Anayeli discovered her passion for journalism and reporting at her local high school. She continued to develop her passion at the University of Houston, where she hosted and worked as a reporter for two different student-run television programs. While in college, Anayeli interned at KHOU-TV in Houston.

Continuing to broaden her on-air experience after graduation, Anayeli worked as a reporter and host for a local entertainment show for Azteca America in Houston. She loves the people of Texas and covering stories that impact the area whether it's breaking news, crime or politics.

When not working, you may find Anayeli playing soccer or spending time with her family and friends, but music is her second passion. She loves to sing, play the piano and dance.

Texas has always been the place Anayeli calls home, and she is thrilled to be part of the Kiii News team.

If you have any stories you would like to share with her, you can email her at aruiz@kiiitv.com. She would love to hear from you!
