Alice Gang Member Arrested on Weapons Charges

ALICE (Kiii News) -

A phoned-in tip led Alice deputies to a 31-year old gang member early Thursday morning. He was arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Authorities said that the tip they received led them to a home on County Road 342, east of Alice, at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. They were given consent to search the home, and found a shotgun, three rifles and a revolver.

According to officials, Iriberto Diaz confirmed his affiliation with the Raza Unida gang. He had been convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked into Jim Wells County jail on a $5,000 bond.
