It was a harrowing scene on the West Campus of Del Mar College on Thursday, as a fire-rescue exercise was performed.
High school students performed CPR on a mannequin that was rescued from a smoke-filled house on the campus. It's called the Public Education Safety Camp.
Nearly 50 students have spent part of their summer learning the skills needed for Thursday's exercise. The camp is an annual event.
