Homeland Security agents search Groves house

Updated:

Authorities Friday afternoon released information about a Department of Homeland Security raid conducted at a home in the 3100 block of East Street in Groves Friday morning.

Officers with the Groves and Beaumont police departments assisted as federal agents removed boxes of evidence from the house.

Officers Friday morning told 12News HD they had a search warrant as part of a criminal investigation, but would not say the nature of the crime.

Officials late in the day said the search warrant was for, "...the discovery of child pornography."

Once inside the home agents say they found drugs, although they said they would not comment on what type of drugs.

One arrest was made.  A woman was taken into custody for unrelated traffic warrants.

The Office of Homeland Security will be going through seized evidence to determine if any more warrants will be issued.
