CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The City demolished a long-time eyesore in the Hillcrest neighborhood, near N. Alameda and Lobo, as part of Operation Proud Partnership.
Demolition took place Monday at an old portable building that had stood next to Washington Elementary, a school that has been closed for years, had became a magnet for the homeless and the criminal element. That was the case until now.
The demolition project took the City a little longer than expected because crews had to go back in and remove asbestos.
