Rep. Farenthold Visits Workforce Solutions of Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Job numbers for July come out at the end of this week, and many experts are predicting another rise in the nationwide unemployment rate, which in June was 8.2-percent.
Of course, Workforce Solutions, the state unemployment office, offers a wide variety of help to those who are unemployed; and Monday, Congressman Blake Farenthold took a tour of the Corpus Christi office.
"It's exciting to have a job," Farenthold said. "You get up. You go to work. You meet new people. You feel good about yourself. And I'm excited there is a program in place to give people skills and do it in a way that's exciting and fun."
Farenthold, the incumbent Republican, will find out Tuesday evening which Democrat he'll be facing this November. It will either be Jerry Trevino or Rose Meza Harrison.
