CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A couple of new dog runs were unveiled Monday at the City's Animal Control Facility. They will give dogs the room they need, and hopefully a new home.
"We had these great yards built for animals of adoption," said Cheryl Martinez, president of People Assisting Animal Control. "They can run and play, and for people looking to adopt an animal, we can put them in these runs to play with also."
The dog runs were built with the help of donations to PAAC. They will allow people to visit with pets they are wanting to adopt, and will also allow volunteers to socialize the animals and let them run and play during the day.
Organizers are now hoping to collect donations to help put in shade at these dog runs, that way the animals can stay cool during the dog days of summer.
