Burn Ban in Effect for Jim Wells County

JIM WELLS COUNTY (Kiii News) -

After a special meeting on Friday, the Jim Wells County Commissioners' Court enacted a ban on outdoor burning.

The Commissioners' Court determined that outdoor burning during recent drought conditions poses a significant threat to public safety.

The burn ban will be in effect until Aug. 24. At that time, the Commissioners' Court will give the ban further consideration.
