CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Palmer Drug Abuse Program kicked off a big campaign drive Tuesday with a new anti-drug campaign aimed at teenagers.
The campaign is entitled They Lied.
It's meant to highlight the very real consequences of drug and alcohol abuse in contrast with the so-called glamorous appeal that many teens fall for.
As part of Tuesday's kick-off luncheon, PDAP announced that they are trying to raise $75,000 by the end of the year. It will go to help fund PDAP centers in Corpus Christi, Kingsville and Alice.
"Those areas are starting to grow," said Morgan Spear, of PDAP. "The amount of kids and amount of adults we are starting to see are starting to double."
