CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Some Corpus Christi police officers were recognized Wednesday for going above and beyond the normal expectations of the job.
Among the officers being honored was Lt. Phillip Bintliff, who just this past weekend helped save the life of a seven-month old baby boy. He performed CPR, bringing that child back to life.
"I'm the father of four daughters, and when you turn the corner and you see a child that is unresponsive, inside you're panicking. You're freaking out," Bintliff said. "But as a trained professional, on the outside, you have to do everything you can to do your job correctly and help save a child."
That little boy is now healthy and doing just fine, thanks to Officer Bintliff.
