The Coastal Bend Blood Center is looking for donors who have type O-positive blood.
"The past two days, we've seen an increase in blood usage at area hospitals, and we are low on type O-positive blood," said Leticia Mondragon of the Blood Center. "More people have it. That's why it's needed the most."
The Coastal Bend Blood Center is the sole provider of blood to thirteen medical facilities in a ten-county area. The blood benefits accident victims and those undergoing surgery, cancer and leukemia treatments.
