Mary Kristene Chapa, 18, who was shot in the head along with her girlfriend in a Portland park in June, is said to be making progress in her recovery; but it's still a long road to go.
As you can imagine medical bills are adding up.
That is why Brewster Street Ice House is playing host to a benefit for her from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Brewster Street will donate $1 for every beer sold and $2 for every burger plate sold to Chapa's benefit fund.
Donations will also be accepted at the door, and a silent auction will be held.
Local band Scarecrow People is going to perform at the benefit.
