ALICE (Kiii News) -

A man wanted for murder has been brought back to Alice after being caught by police in Mississippi.

Antonio Castillo was brought to the Alice Police Department late Friday afternoon to be booked and questioned. He was caught in Grenada, Miss., on July 27.

A couple of Alice police officers and a Texas Ranger flew with him back to Alice. Police said Castillo was on his way to Missouri.

Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno said cooperation among law enforcement led to the arrest.

"I thank my whole department," Bueno said. "It's the result of teamwork."

Castillo was charged with murder in connection with the shootout that took place in Alice a couple of weeks ago on Nayer Street. It was between rival gangs, and left four people dead.

The Alice Police Department has made dozens of arrests since the violent gang war in Alice erupted.
