Purple Heart Recipients Honored - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

Its one of the most prestigious awards a member of the armed forces can receive.

At Sherrill Park, soldier's who received the prestigious Purple Heart award were honored today.

The Purple Heart is given those who've been wounded or killed in action.

Also honored, were those who took care of our wounded in the field of battle.

The veteran's band was on-hand to provided music.

All recipients of the Purple Heart were invited.

This Tuesday marks Purple Heart day, which was officially designated by George Washington in 1782.
