Hundreds of Acres Burned Near Mathis - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

Crews say a tractor trailer sparked a fire off of FM 1068 a few miles outside of Mathis.

The flames left 175 acres of property charred, and came within a few miles of Lake Corpus Christi State Park.

Fire departments from Live Oak and San Patricio Counties assisted in the fire fight. No one was injured and no homes were damaged.
