Police have identified the man found dead in Ingleside Sunday evening.
Arlin Ray Shelton, Jr., 35, of Victoria, was discovered in a vacant lot just before 6 p.m. Sunday, on the 2100 block of Fourth Street. Investigators said he was there for a couple of days.
Police are not calling it a homicide just yet, but obviously this is something that has neighbors in the area on edge.
"Police told me his legs were broken," said Johnny Kelly, who lives near the crime scene. "Dogs didn't bark. It's disconcerting. It's surprising."
Residents in the area said Shelton's body was found on a piece of property owned by his boss. On Sunday night, investigators roped off the area as they gathered evidence.
A Texas Ranger is helping with the investigation, and police aren't releasing many details.
Shelton's autopsy was completed Monday, but the medical examiner has not determined a cause of death. He is waiting for the toxicology results to come back.
