Man Finds Face of Jesus on a Flour Tortilla

BEEVILLE (Kiii News) -

There was an unusual sighting this past Wednesday on, of all things, a breakfast taco.

One Beeville man is convinced that his flour tortilla contains an image of Jesus; and there's a lot more than meets eye on this one.

Ernesto Garza is a regular at the La Amistad Adult Day Care, where they serve tacos for breakfast on Wednesdays. Normally, Garza goes up to the kitchen counter and gets his own tacos, but on that particular morning, a five-year old girl named Serenity brought them to him.

Garza began to eat when he noticed the image on the flour tortilla. Astonished, he began to show others.

"I seen it, and then my friend sits right next to me here, so I showed it to him to make sure that I was seeing the picture, and he said yeah," Garza said. "And I called her and she said she saw it. She's the third person that saw it."

"I didn't really notice the image until he kind of, like, pointed it out to me, and then I was kind of like, okay. My first reaction was, like, Jesus," said Berta Flores, who saw the taco as well.

Now the Day Care center is a faith-based center that is deeply religious. They have mottos on the walls that they live by, about the Golden Rule and serving humanity, and get this: there is even a prayer for serenity on the wall. Remember, that's the name of the young girl that brought Ernesto the taco.

"We truly feel that the presence is always here, but when something like this happens, it's always just a reminder that he is here with us, and that we're truly blessed," said Felipita Bastita, owner of the day care center.

Everyone at the center believes it is a blessing and a sign from God.
