CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The City is making good on its promise to sweep though Flour Bluff in search of city code violators.
Operation Proud Partnership kicked off Thursday morning on Graham Road as police, Animal Control and code enforcement officers hit the streets of the Bluff.
Officers came across a small homeless camp, and code enforcement officials handed out citations for those breaking the City's leash law.
The focus of Operation Proud Partnership is to get under-served neighborhoods cleaned up and back in shape.
"There are a number of issues in this area," code enforcement Supervisor Tracey Cantu said. "We have seen an increase in violations when the new Wal-Mart and the new HEB moved in."
Flour Bluff residents are encouraged to set out brush and bulky items on the curb in the coming days, as solid waste crews will begin picking up brush Aug. 27-30.
