Gold Masters, located on Ayers near Del Mar College, put together the day-long school supply drive on Friday.
The jewelry buying and selling business invited some vendors to sell their goods in the store's parking lot, and even put together a barbecue lunch plate.
All the money donated on Friday, as well as all of the school supplies collected, will benefit needy students in the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
"We brought colored pencils, colored boxes, ready boxes, colors," said Marcus Ortiz II, who donated school supplies at the event.
Ortiz and his father felt it was important to donate Friday. Ortiz's father says, with the right tools, every kid can excel.
